Overcoming Addictions with Faith

Today we will consider an important topic - the rehabilitation of addictions. This process requires not only physical effort but also spiritual growth. Our church believes that through faith we can overcome any difficulties, including addictions. It is important to understand that addictions can manifest in various ways: from alcoholism to drug addiction or even addiction to gadgets. Regardless of what holds us captive, we can find freedom in Jesus Christ.

The first step is to acknowledge your addiction. This is an important step on the path to recovery. As stated in

Psalm 32:5

“I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity. I said: ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’ – and you forgave the guilt of my sin.”

This is the first step toward liberation. No one can overcome this alone; we need God's guidance.

Next, it is important to seek help from the Church and the community. We should not belong to those who believe that they must carry the entire burden by themselves. The Bible says:

Galatians 6:2

“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Coming together with brothers and sisters in faith can provide a reliable support.

During rehabilitation, it is also crucial to practice prayer and Bible reading. They inspire us and strengthen our faith. When we pray, we open ourselves to God’s will and receive strength against temptation. As emphasized in

1 Thessalonians 5:17

“Pray without ceasing.”

Prayer is our communication with God, and He hears our prayers.

Let us not forget the importance of hope. Rehabilitation is a process that takes time, but with faith and patience, we can overcome our addictions. God has long promised that He will not abandon us, and we must believe in that promise. The pinnacle of our hope is found in

Romans 15:13

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

.

So, if you or your loved ones are struggling with addictions, we invite you to join us. Our church is ready to support you on this challenging journey.
