Each of us longs to have a personal encounter with God, to find His presence in our lives. This reminds us of Moses' meeting with God in the burning bush, described in
Exodus 3:1-6"Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. And he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses said, 'I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.' When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, 'Moses! Moses!' And he said, 'Here I am.' Then He said, 'Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.'
This encounter became a turning point in Moses' life. His everyday life as a shepherd was radically changed when he saw the burning bush. Moses received not only a calling but also direct communication with God Himself.
This moment inspires us to reflect on our own practice of meeting with God. What are your "burning bushes"? How can you look more closely at your immediate surroundings and notice where God reveals Himself in your life?
Moses heard the name, received the calling: "Go and bring my people out of Egypt." Each of us has our calling from the Lord. And we are called to act like Moses. By ignoring God's voice, we can rarely understand our place in His plans.
An encounter with God can happen at any moment. What do you think: are you ready to stop and hear His voice? Are you willing to take a step into the unknown, like Moses? It is important to understand that this requires courage, faith, and a willingness to follow God's plans.
In our time, just as in the days of Moses, God speaks in various ways: through the Scripture, prayer, circumstances, or even through other people. Listen to Him! In
Isaiah 30:21"And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it,' when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left."
Do not be afraid, the Lord is always near; He is ready to give you His peace and guidance. The experience of a personal encounter with Him is not just a past moment in Moses' life but an opportunity available to each of us today.
In conclusion, let us be ready to respond to God's calling. May our hearts be open for an encounter with Him, for it can be a defining moment in our lives, just as it was for Moses.
