Let us listen to what the Bible says about the role of women in ministry. It is a special calling that God has bestowed upon many. In our church, women have a unique influence and the ability to serve, support, and inspire one another.
In the context of women's ministry, it is important to mention how God has called women in His word. Their stories of service show us the strength and courage that women possess.
Acts 2:17"And in the last days, says God, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams."
This verse clearly affirms that women are also called to ministry and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is only through their acceptance of God’s will that they can become messengers of His word.
The stories of heroic women in the Bible inspire us. For example, Deborah, a judge and prophetess, leads the people of Israel to victory. Her faith and courage encourage us to act today.
Judges 4:4-5"Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time. She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel, and the Israelites came up to her for judgment."
Deborah exemplifies how a woman can become a leader in the church. This affirms that women can play a significant role in ministry, leading with wisdom and guiding the people to God.
Moreover, we remember Mary and Martha, the sisters of Lazarus, who served Jesus. Their devotion and faithfulness are important examples that teach us humility and serving others.
Luke 10:38-42"As Jesus and His disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, 'Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!' 'Martha, Martha,' the Lord answered, 'you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.'"
This story teaches us to balance between serving and listening to God’s word. Our women in ministry should learn to work, but also to focus on their relationship with God.
Thus, women play a vital role in the ministry of the church. Their service brings life, love, and support to our community. They are those who encourage and inspire others. Let us uplift our women in their calling and service, for their contribution is invaluable in our church!
