Dear brothers and sisters, today we will talk about an important topic that concerns each of us – spiritual gifts. Every believer, upon accepting Jesus Christ into their heart, receives unique gifts from the Holy Spirit. These gifts are of immense significance not only for us personally but also for the church as a whole.
The spiritual gifts mentioned in
Romans 12:6-8are an important part of our service and calling.“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.”
Here are a few initial steps for discovering your spiritual gifts:
Once you have discovered your spiritual gifts, it is important to use them properly. In
1 Peter 4:10-11we read that we should serve one another, using our gifts for the building of God's Kingdom.“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. Whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies— in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Spiritual gifts can manifest in various ways: through service, teaching, encouragement, or even through music and other creative forms. The main thing is to be open to the Holy Spirit and follow His guidance.
Let each of us remember that our gifts are not just for our personal enrichment, but to support one another in faith. We are called to serve, love, and uplift our church and community in Christ's love.
May our actions proclaim God's glory and testify to His kingdom on earth. Amen!
