Raising children in faith is one of the most important callings of parents. Among all the life obligations and responsibilities we undertake, the task of imparting spiritual values to our children holds a special place. As we belong to a Pentecostal church, our approach to upbringing is based on biblical principles that help children understand their place in God's plan.
The Bible speaks about the importance of teaching children from an early age.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7This indicates the importance of continuous communication with children about God's truths and principles that should become foundational in their lives.“And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
Ministry to children in our church involves various formats: Sunday schools, Bible study, creative activities, songs, and prayers. We believe that through games, stories, and prayer sessions, our children can not only learn about the Lord but also experience His presence in their hearts.
It is important to provide an environment where children can freely ask questions and express their feelings.
Matthew 19:14This verse reminds us that children are important in God's eyes and have the right to access Him.“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’”
No less important is the example we set. Children learn from us not only through words but also through our actions. Therefore, strive to live in a way that your actions align with your words. Show them how prayer and faith can change lives, and how crucial it is to trust God in all circumstances.
Proverbs 22:6This verse confirms that we, as parents, have the responsibility to teach our children the foundations of faith while they are still young.“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Be sure to involve children in church activities, demonstrating that serving is not just a responsibility but also a joy. Allow them to participate in ministry, singing praises, and share testimonies about how God is working in your life. These experiences will create a foundation for their own faith.
May every father and mother remember that raising children in faith is not just an obligation but a privilege. The Lord has entrusted us with these little lives to nurture them in love and grace. Let’s work together so that every child who attends our church can become a witness of God’s love in their lives.
Join our children’s ministry to access more resources, ideas for activities, and to share experiences with younger generations in faith. Together we can accomplish much for God's Kingdom!”
