Faith and Actions: How to Believe but Also Act Actively According to God's Will

Faith and actions are two components of our Christian life that must invariably go hand in hand. Faith in God is the foundation upon which all our deeds are built, but faith alone is not enough. To fulfill God's will, it is essential to act actively, moving our hands and hearts in service.

When we speak of active actions in faith, we are not only referring to physical deeds but also to our intentions, attitudes, and desires. As Christians, we are called to live according to the principles of God's Word. Our actions should reflect our faith, showing the world the love of Christ through deeds.

James 2:17

“So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.”

This testimony is a confirmation that living faith must manifest in actions. God calls us to be active, and this phenomenon is evident in many stories from Scripture.

For example, in the Book of James, we read that faith without works is dead. This should prompt us to ask the question: "What actions testify to my faith?" Are we ready to make the most of our talents and gifts to serve others? Do we strive to put in effort to spread God's Kingdom? Quietly sitting at home with the belief that everything will take care of itself does not align with God's calling on our lives.

One of the key components of active service is spiritual growth. To understand God's will rightly, we need to be constantly in communication with God through prayer, Bible reading, and fellowship with other believers. God's Word illuminates our path and points us on how to act according to God's plan.

Romans 12:2

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

This verse emphasizes that our minds must be renewed so that we can perceive God's will. We must continually seek ways to express active faith in our daily lives.

It is also important to understand that our actions must align with God's will, rather than simply being a result of our own will. This means that we must rely on the Holy Spirit, who guides us in all our endeavors. When we act in accordance with the Holy Spirit, our deeds will reflect the character of Christ.

Serving the poor and oppressed, supporting one another in the community, helping in the church and the world—these are just a few examples of active actions that demonstrate our faith. Each of us has the opportunity to contribute to God's Kingdom. Like an onion that always has several layers, our actions can have different levels of impact, reaching people at various stages of life.

Therefore, we are called to action. May our faith be alive, actively manifesting in deeds of love and service. And may each of our steps be directed toward fulfilling God's will. Let us not forget that in faith and actions together lies the true power of God in our lives.

Let's grow together in service and faith to be a true testament of God's Kingdom on this earth!
