Romans 1:17, we find confirmation that faith is not just an element of our religion, but the foundation upon which our lives are built."For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith.'
The phrase "The righteous shall live by faith" emphasizes that faith must be active, alive, and, above all, personal. This means that we do not just believe in God, but also experience His presence in our lives every day. Living faith is a constant interaction with God: prayer, reading the Bible, and fellowship with other believers.
When we consider living faith, it is important to realize that it is not merely an emotional experience. It is an active decision to trust God in all circumstances, even when we do not understand what is happening around us. Living faith empowers us to overcome difficulties and unexpected situations. When we hope in God during trials, we open the door to His divine strength.
It is not easy to maintain living faith in the fast-paced conditions of life. The world constantly offers us numerous distractions that divert us from our primary goal—following Christ. Therefore, it is especially important to create conditions for the growth of our faith. This could involve participating in church services, prayers, support groups, and personal time in God's Word.
It is also essential to emphasize the importance of community. In Acts 2:42, it says:
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, in fellowship, in breaking of bread, and in prayers."This verse highlights how believers can strengthen, encourage, and pray for one another. Living faith develops not only in our personal communication with God but also in fellowship with other believers.
In the struggles of our faith, we should not forget God’s promises. Know that God's promise always surpasses circumstances. Romans 8:28 reassures us:
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."This gives us confidence that even if we are going through tough times now, God will turn it for our good.
