Today we will explore one of the most important topics that affects many people in our society—addiction. Whether it is drugs, alcohol, gaming, or other forms of dependency, one thing remains unchanged: each of us has the opportunity to find true freedom through faith in God.
Addiction can feel like a hopeless situation. But we have a promise from the Bible that we can receive strength from the Creator who loves us.
Romans 8:37This means that nothing, not even our addiction, can separate us from God's love.“For in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
True rehabilitation begins with recognizing our situation and accepting that we cannot cope on our own. The Bible says:
Psalm 34:18It is important to open up before God, acknowledging our weaknesses and troubles.“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Next, we must surround ourselves with a supportive community of believers. Sharing our experiences, praying, and supporting one another play a vital role in the recovery process. Christ said:
Matthew 18:20This is a promise that when we believe and pray together with others, we draw closer to God.“For where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I among them.”
Understanding and exploring God's word is also a crucial part of the journey to freedom. When we fill our minds with truths from the Bible, it helps us change our perspective about ourselves and our possibilities.
Colossians 3:2By focusing our attention on spiritual values, we can feel how our desires begin to change.“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
It is also important to remember that the healing process may take time, and that is okay. God works in us and through us gradually, shaping our character.
Hebrews 12:1-2Our faith should be at the center of everything since it is in Jesus that we can find hope.“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross.”
We invite you to special meetings at our church, where you will receive spiritual support, pray together, and learn to build your life on a solid foundation in Christ. Don’t postpone your freedom any longer. Today is the day when you can start a new life!
Remember, you are not alone. The Word of God and the community of believers are always there to support you on this journey.
