Freedom from Addictions

Welcome, dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Today we will address an important topic that concerns many people in our community and around the world. This is rehabilitation from addictions, which has become a real challenge for many of us.

Addiction can come in various forms: from alcohol, drugs to gambling and even addiction to technology. But it is important to remember that there is hope and a way out of this darkness. The Lord Jesus has given us a promise of freedom and restoration, and this is possible for each of us when we turn to Him.

In

Isaiah 61:1

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound."

we read about the mission of Jesus, who came to free people from all bondage. This passage reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles, for in Jesus we have a Guide and Helper.

Let us consider a few steps that will help us on the path to restoration:

  1. Recognition of the problem. The first and perhaps the hardest step is acknowledging that you have an addiction. Opening your hearts to God and to others can be the first step toward freedom.
  2. Prayer and support. Time spent in prayer is incredibly important. Turn to God for strength and wisdom. Praying together with brothers and sisters can help you feel the support of the community.
  3. Seeking professional help. There is no shame in reaching out for help from professionals who specialize in rehabilitation. They can provide you with tools and strategic advice.
  4. The Word of God. The Bible is a source of wisdom and inspiration. Read it, find verses that will strengthen you in difficult moments.
    Psalm 119:105

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

will guide your mind to truth and freedom.

Do not forget that freedom is a journey, not an instantaneous solution. It is a dynamic process that requires time, patience, and effort. However, with God and the support of the community, it is less difficult to overcome even the most challenging obstacles.

It is also important to understand that addiction is not just a personal issue; it is a problem that affects your family, friends, and community. Volunteering and serving others can also become part of your rehabilitation, as helping others teaches you to be stronger.

Do not lose hope! Jesus is your Savior who can give you a new beginning. Believe in your restoration, seek God’s will in your life, and strive to be a light for others who are going through similar hardships.

Remember, no one deserves condemnation, and we all need God’s grace. Believe, lead a healthy lifestyle, and Jesus will deliver you from any addictions.

May the Lord bless you on your journey to freedom from addictions!
