Doubts and Faith: How the Stories of Saints Help Us Understand God's Wisdom

Doubts are a natural part of our existence, especially when it comes to faith. Often, when we face difficulties, our faith can waver, and we begin to question God's promises. But it is in these moments that it is important to remind ourselves of the stories of saints who have endured similar trials and found strength and wisdom through them.

One of the most remarkable stories is that of Saint Job.

Job 1:21

"Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there: the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!"

This saint experienced immense suffering but remained faithful to God even when everything around him seemed hopeless. His response was not anger, but gratitude, which further emphasizes that faith has tremendous power even in the most challenging times of our lives.

Another example is Moses, who, standing before the Red Sea, felt uncertain in his role as a leader.

Exodus 14:13-14

"And Moses said to the people: Do not be afraid; stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever! The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

This moment in history illustrates how important it is to maintain faith, even when we face enormous challenges. God has always been and will remain with us, even when we cannot see a way out of a situation.

We can also look to the stories of the holy apostles. For instance, the Apostle Peter, who, despite all his doubts, boldly proclaimed the Gospel.

Acts 2:38

"Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

This shows that even the greatest doubts cannot hinder God's plans for our lives if we listen to His call.

When we feel doubts, it is worth recalling these sacred lessons. The experiences of the saints confirm that God's faith is stronger than our fears. Through prayer and communion with God, we can gain strength and confidence in our faith.

Therefore, when doubts arise, remember the saints; they were just like us and have already managed to pass through darkness into the light. "The Lord said to me: 'Believe, and you shall receive!'" This mercy of God towards us is an eternal affirmation that even in the toughest times, we are not alone. He is always nearby, ready to provide support.
