Listen to Children with Your Heart

Children’s ministry is a special area in the church that requires great attention and care. Children are not just the future of the church, but our present as well. They are capable of teaching us many important lessons if we are willing to listen and understand them.

In

Matthew 18:3

“And he said, truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Jesus emphasizes the importance of the simple and pure faith of children. They have open hearts and are ready to accept God’s word without doubts. How can we become like children as we strive to serve them?

First of all, it is important to treat children with respect and love. Each child is a unique gift from God, so we should accept them as they are. They have their own experiences, fears, and joys, and it is our duty to support them along this journey.

Secondly, we must create an atmosphere where children can actively communicate. By listening to their stories, thoughts, and questions, we can gain a deeper understanding of their needs. It is essential to teach them to share their inner world openly. Here, we can use various activities such as games, quizzes, or even dramatizations, allowing children to express their thoughts creatively.

Serving children also involves teaching them. Make sure you use methods that are appropriate for their age group. Always try to connect your lessons to the real life of the children so they can understand how God’s word impacts their everyday lives.

Don’t forget to pray for the children. Prayer is our powerful tool. In

James 5:16

“Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

we see how prayer can change people’s lives, and our children are no exception. By praying, we entrust them into God’s hands, who knows everything about their lives.

By raising children in faith, we open doors for them to the Kingdom of Heaven. Remember that your testimony and example are the best advertisement for Christ. Children learn by observing us, so let our practice be a living testimony of God’s love.

In conclusion, children’s ministry is an opportunity not just to teach children about God but also to understand His love and grace more deeply ourselves. Take on the challenge of serving children, and you will see how God will work in their lives as well as in yours!
