Dear brothers and sisters, today we want to talk about an important and relevant topic – the path to liberation from addictions. It is a complex process that requires strength, patience, and confidence in God from us. Each of us may face different addictions: to alcohol, drugs, and even social media. But let us not forget that in Christ there is hope for liberation and restoration.
In our lives, there is often a need for forgiveness, not only in forgiving one another but also in forgiving ourselves. Jesus Christ came to give us this opportunity. Let us remind ourselves of the parable of the prodigal son, where the father, seeing him from afar, was already preparing to welcome him, even when he had not yet approached. This is similar to how God waits for us, to forgive and restore.
Luke 15:20“And he arose and went to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”
When we realize that we are addicted, the first step to liberation is to acknowledge our weakness. This can be difficult, but it is even more important to recognize that we are not alone in this struggle. We all have sins and weaknesses, and through Jesus, we have the opportunity to experience true freedom.
It is also important to remember that liberation is not a one-time act but a prolonged process. We must continually pray and seek God's help in our tough moments. Do not forget that prayer is one of the most essential weapons against addictions. In God, there is power for liberation!
James 5:16“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”
Reach out to brothers and sisters in your church for support. Together we can pray, support one another, and share testimonies of God’s power in our lives. We have an important task – to support and uplift each other on this journey.
Do not keep your heart closed. Open it before the Lord, and He will surely enter and change you. Let us be open to God's work in our lives. Remember that Jesus Christ came so that we may have life, and that more abundantly!
John 10:10“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
If you or someone close to you is struggling with addiction, remember that it is never too late to seek help. Stay in communication with God, and ask Him to give you the strength to overcome. Start this journey today, and remember that with God, you can overcome any challenges.
May this period become your time of enlightenment and restoration. With the Lord in your heart, you will be able to overcome everything!
