Childhood is a special period in life when the soul is still open to everything new, and the heart is ready to receive and believe in miracles. Matthew 19:14
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’”
These words of Jesus are extremely important. They remind us that children are not just objects of upbringing but also our future disciples and servants. It is vital for us, as parents and the church, to be responsible for their spiritual growth.
In the context of children’s ministry, we strive to use various methods to engage children and show them the way to God. This can include games, interactive lessons, celebrations, and much more. For example, we can use songs and dances to glorify God’s name or theatrical performances that help children understand biblical truths.
Let us not forget that God’s love has no age limits. Children can and should have their own personal experiences with God. Psalm 8:3-4
“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?”
It is essential that we teach children to pray and read the Bible from an early age. One way to do this can be to create family time where we study the Scriptures together. Give children the opportunity to express their thoughts and questions, as their little hearts have a great desire to know the truth.
By dedicating time to serve children, we are shaping their spiritual future. Every little one we teach can become a great servant in the kingdom of heaven, and that is undoubtedly the best investment. Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Our church strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for children where they can grow in faith. Periodically, we organize special events just for children, where they can learn more about God and connect with one another. This is very important!
Remember: when we serve children, we serve God. May each of us be ready to support them in their spiritual journeys, for it is this love and care that they will cherish for a lifetime.
May our hearts be open to the children, as within each little one lies a great truth of God!
