Calling to Serve: What Ephesians 4:11-13 Says

In the life of every believer, there is a special moment – the moment when we feel called to serve. That moment when the heart longs to serve others, to glorify God through our actions and words. The Word of God, particularly

Ephesians 4:11-13

"And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

, inspires us to understand that each of us has our place in the Kingdom of God.

This passage not only elucidates the functions of Christ's disciples, but also emphasizes the importance of unity. The purpose of ministry is not just to meet personal needs, but also to serve the community. We, as a church, are called to grow and develop to be witnesses of Christ in our surroundings. It is important to remember that the calling to serve is not just for the chosen ones, but for each of us.

Calling involves recognizing our gifts and talents. As we choose the path in which we will serve, it is crucial to pay attention to what God has already sown in our hearts. Each gift has its purpose. Some may have the gift of leadership, others the gift of teaching, and some the gift of encouragement. These gifts are important links in serving one another and building the Church.

Moreover, Ephesians 4:12 speaks of the need for us to equip the saints for ministry. This means our actions should be directed towards good works that glorify the Lord's name. Through these good works, we can demonstrate Christ to the world around us. Only when we are active in ministry can we truly grasp the depth of God's love.

In ministry, we also grow. Every step we take on the path of service leads us to a deeper knowledge of God. As noted in

Ephesians 4:13

"...till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

, working together for the benefit of the Kingdom of God leads to unity and perfection.

Therefore, our calling to serve is a responsibility but also a privilege. Let us remember that such a path can be challenging, but we believe that the strength God imparts to us is always sufficient to fulfill this calling. Again and again, we urge young people: follow God's voice and open your hearts to serve. In the end, together we will build the Church of Christ and carry His light into this world.
