Dear brothers and sisters, we live in an age where we feel a tremendous influence from the world around us. But what truly matters for our spiritual life? The Word of God speaks to us about the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which should form the basis of our daily behavior.
Let us turn to
Galatians 5:22-23In these words lies a profound meaning that we must delve into. Each of us is called to manifest these fruits in our lives, as they are a testament to our closeness to God."But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law."
When we talk about love, we must remember that true love is not just an emotion; it is an action. As stated in
1 John 4:8We are called to love not only those who love us but also our enemies and those who may hurt us."Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
Joy is another important aspect of our lives. It does not depend on circumstances but is a deep feeling that comes from God. Scripture calls us to be "constantly joyful" (Acts 8:8). This reflects our relationship with God and the assurance that He is always with us.
Peace is what many people seek in this world, but it can only be found in Christ. He is our peace, as noted in
John 14:27When we have peace with God, this peace guards our hearts in times of trial and difficulty."Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives."
Forbearance, kindness, and goodness allow us to be compassionate towards others. It is important to remember that we are all children of God, and our actions should reflect His love and mercy. Gentleness and self-control are fruits that indicate our inner calm and control over our emotions.
Each of us can ask ourselves, "Which fruits do I display in my life?" This is an important question that helps us understand how close we are to God. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to help us cultivate these fruits in our hearts and lives.
Let us pray together that God grants us the strength to live in love, joy, and peace each day, so that fruits such as forbearance and kindness may manifest in our hearts. May our lives become a testament to His greatness, and may we ourselves be vessels of His love in this world.
Do not forget that the fruits of the Holy Spirit are not only for us but for the people around us. Let's share them, for Christianity is not just a personal connection with God but also a service to our neighbor.
