Spiritual Gifts: How to Recognize and Utilize the Abilities Given to Us by God
Every believer receives spiritual gifts from God, through which we can serve one another and glorify the Lord. Spiritual gifts not only enrich our spiritual lives but also allow us to discover our identity in Christ.
According to
1 Corinthians 12:4-7, each of us has received unique abilities from the Holy Spirit to serve not only ourselves but also others."There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit; there are different kinds of service, but the same Lord; there are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good."
The first step in using spiritual gifts is to become aware of their existence. Let’s look at a few methods that can help in recognizing your own gifts:

- Practice: Get involved in ministries where you can try your hand. Often, gifts are revealed during active service.
