Dear parents and little friends, today we will talk about the huge gift that God has given us — friendship. Imagine if you have a friend who is always with you, who is always ready to listen to you, to support you in difficult situations, and to give you the best advice. This is the kind of friend we have — our Lord!
The Bible tells us:
John 15:15This verse confirms that we, as children of God, have the privilege of being friends with God. But what does that mean? How can we establish this friendship?"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."
Firstly, communication. Just like in any friendship, it is important to communicate. We can talk to God through prayer. Don’t be afraid to say to Him, "Hello, God! I’m happy that You are in my life." You can share your joys, worries, sadness, and even questions with Him. Understanding our thoughts and feelings is a step towards deep relationships.
Secondly, read the Bible. The Bible is a book in which God tells us about Himself and how He loves us. By reading His Word, you learn more about Him, His actions, and His promises. For example, in
Psalm 119:105This tells us that God’s Word guides us like a lantern in the dark."Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."
Thirdly, serve others. God doesn’t just want us to be happy, but He also calls us to share that joy with others. We can help friends, share toys, or even assist our parents at home. Every good deed is a way we show our love for God in practice.
And finally, be grateful. Gratitude is an important part of friendship. The Word of God says:
1 Thessalonians 5:18We should thank God for what He does in our lives — for food, friends, and for everything that brings us joy!"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
So, little friends, be open to God and strive to befriend Him. He is always ready to be your friend — easygoing, loving, and good. Remember that true friendship centers on love, support, and trust. May your life be filled with this friendship with the Lord!
Come to our children's ministry, where we will learn to be friends with God together! May God bless you!
