The first thing to realize is that salvation is not based on our merits, but is a free gift from God. We cannot earn grace, we cannot buy it, or deserve it through good deeds. It is a gift given to us through faith in Jesus Christ.

Many people try to live righteously by performing religious rituals and adhering to rules, hoping that their actions will lead them to salvation. However, as the Apostle Paul notes, this does not work. Our good works cannot bridge the gap that exists between us and God because of sin. That is why we need grace.

The second important aspect is faith. In the text, we see that gracious salvation comes through faith. This means that we must open our hearts and accept Christ’s salvation. Our faith is not merely an acknowledgment of fact, but a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is a relationship that changes our lives and leads us to holiness.

Additionally, the Word states that it is not from works, so that no one may boast. This is very important, as it emphasizes that none of us can boast about our achievements. This does not mean that good deeds are not important in the Christian life. However, they are a consequence of salvation, not its cause. When we truly understand that we are saved by grace, we feel the desire to respond with our hearts and lives.

It is also worth mentioning that grace has the power to change us. God not only forgives us, but also gives us the opportunity to live anew. In

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come!"

Grace is not only forgiveness, but also a power that changes and transforms. And it is this power that we must accept in our lives. We are called to live in the grace that God gives us while also following His will.

Thus, to better understand grace, we need to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, accept His gift of salvation, and allow Him to change our lives every day. This is a step towards a free and joyful life in the embrace of God’s grace!
