Spiritual gifts are special abilities that God gives each of us through the Holy Spirit. They serve to build up the Church and glorify God. Today, we will talk about how to discover and properly use these gifts for God's glory.
Spiritual gifts are not just skills or talents. They are what is received from God and have a purpose: to serve others, to be a blessing to those around us, and of course, to glorify God. Each gift is unique and needed in the context of God's plan.
The Word of God provides us with clear guidance on this topic. In
1 Corinthians 12:4-7we see that spiritual gifts come from one Spirit."There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good."
1. Prayer: Start with prayer. Ask God to reveal your gifts to you.
James 1:5Everyone who asks receives."If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
2. Self-Reflection: Think about what you enjoy doing the most. What activities bring you joy and satisfaction? Sometimes your passions can point to your spiritual gifts.
3. Service in the Church: Get involved in ministry. During service, you will be able to sense where you have abilities and where God is leading you best.
Your gifts are meant to bless others. In
Ephesians 4:11-12God's word indicates that our gifts are also meant for the edification of others."So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."
Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone! Allow God to use you for great things. And remember, the most important thing is the attitude of your heart.
Discovering and using spiritual gifts is an unforgettable journey. It is not just about you, but about the entire church. Remember, each of you has a unique role in God's family.
Do not hesitate to ask God, seek help from others, and feel confident that what you are doing is a service for God's glory. What are your gifts? Uncover them, and let your life be a testimony to the great God!
